We had Confluence in the Cloud as a trial and the notification's worked and emails were sent to the appropriately. We are now starting to use Confluence and we have noticed that the email notifications have stopped working (We have had Confluence in total for 6 months). We still get the notifications in the Confluence Notification tray just not to our emails. We haven't changed anything drastically in Confluence which would block this, do you have any ideas why this would stop working. Our JIRA email notifications work absolutely fine.

In this case I believe you need to contact Atlassian Support, that way we'd be able to investigate it properly.
