We are using the search box in Confleunce 4.3.3

We can search this whole line BlockDefinition.Blocks.PlanText.AllowTextObjects=N

We cannot search "AllowText" or AllowText*

or BlockDefinition.Blocks.PlanText.AllowTextObjec*

Any ideas?

Hi there,

I'm not sure but it could be that the search index has become corrupted and this is why the search isn't working as expected, so to test this theory I would recommend you try following the instructions in this document to rebuld the index from scratch: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Rebuild+the+Content+Indices+from+Scratch

You might also want to consider upgrading your instance to Confluence 5.2, where we introduced a new version of the search engine that is significantly imporved from the version that is bundled with Confluence 4.3, because this would also improve the search results significantly.

All the best,
John
