We have a log that gets regularly updated. Normally, we use view, edit with excel to make the necessary updates. Recently, this functionality has stopped working. Some of us can view the file, but don't get the option to edit. For some the file never comes up in view. We didn't change anything that we know of. We all use Chrome, all PCs no Macs

Have all of your users installed the Companion App in order to edit the files? Have your users try clearing their browser cache as well and see if this helps.
