Compatibility of Jira 8.13.20 with Confluence 7.18.1

pottind June 14, 2022

Hi

We're currently on Confluence Server and Data Center 7.3.15 and Jira 8.13.20. We’re using Jira integration with Confluence.

We're considering upgrading Confluence to 7.18.1 due to the critical security vulnerability CVE-2022-26134 - Unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in Confluence Server and Data Center.

I wanted to know if there are any compatibility issues of Jira version 8.13.20 with Confluence version 7.18.1 that we must be aware of or plan for ? Database is MySQL. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you

NP

Since about version 5 of Confluence and 6 of Jira, the "compatibility" has been very much spread out, because both systems have standardised and stabilised their remote APIs and stopped using dedicated linking code.  If the release dates of the two are within a couple of years of each other, then they're "compatible".  Worst case is that some functionality is not there, in which case, the more advanced one will give you a message saying "the other one is too old to support this, you'll need to upgrade it"
