Changing user directories

Christian Christian March 19, 2012

Hi!

I have a question regarding user directories. We are now using AD for authentification of users but have found some limitations, eg external user are not able to change their AD password. So we are now thinking about switching back to LDAP (Domino) for authetification.

Will this lead to additional users in Confluence? Does Confluence use a separate USER ID internally? Or does it use the IDs from the external directory?

Example: My User ID is UABC_123 in AD as well as LDAP. If I have now configured AD for authentification and will now change to LDAP will this lead to 2 users UABC_123 or only 1?

thanks,

Christian

Confluence and JIRA etc.. only care about the actual string username. So as long as the new directory has the same username string then you should be ok
