Cannot force a PageID URL

Reading other similar questions and this article https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/the-differences-between-various-url-formats-for-a-confluence-page-278692715.html

Have not been able to add a special char to the title (e.g. +) or end of title to force URLs to PageID URLs.  Understand that the tiny URL is available, but most users will simply want to save a bookmark with the default URL, and since page titles are likely to change, would prefer to force PageID URLs.

Tried special char in title with existing page and a new sub-page and neither forces pageID URLs, does it perhaps need to be done at the highest page level to begin or please suggest procedure to force this?

Atlassian have been improving the handling of special characters in Cloud urls and you can't really use this trick any more.

You'll need to get your people to use

  • the tiny-urls
  • "save for later" inside Confluence
  • And, as usual, internal links in Confluence (do not link Confluence to itself with urls, use page pointers)
