Cannot edit confluence documentation theme configuration navigation box

In confluence 5.10.

Trying to follow instructions to edit the documentation theme configuration.

In the Navigation box, it seems as though I can only type in text. I want to use the page tree macro as suggested in docs such as:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf510/page-tree-macro-829077659.html

In particlar "In the Confluence editor, choose Insert > Other Macros" makes no sense to me. Am I not in the confluence editor or what...... ?

TIA

Yes, you need to type code/text in the box.. so you need to use wiki markup . try to follow this one instead https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/configure-the-sidebar-317194694.html#ConfiguretheSidebar-Addingcustomcontenttoasidebar
