I have a number of User Macros that were developed that worked perfectly fine in confluence 4.x but after we upgraded to 5.1.3 I can't add them to the page. The editor freezes and the cancel, preview, and save buttons become disabled when I try and add the user macro both using autocomplete and using the macro browser. When I select the user macro to add to the page nothing shows up in the editor as if I never made a selection. The only way to get out of the editor is to click the page title in the breadcrumbs.

I'm also getting a 500 (Internal Server Error) when I make my selection:

GET http://www.mydomain.com/plugins/servlet/confluence/placeholder/macro?definition=e2plcHAtaXBiYW5uZXJ9&locale=en_GB&version=2 500 (Internal Server Error)

This link is to the macro.png file which is the header of the panel in the editor once the macro is added. For some reason it's crashing before it grabs it and thus leaves the editor in an errored state.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Atlassian is having trouble figuring it out themselves.

Good'ol Hercules the atlassian robot sent me this url finally after months of back and forth with the service desk. After following the steps it appeared to have fixed the issue.
