Can pages on a public Confluence be restricted by location?

Nicole Commander November 24, 2016

Howdy,

I'm thinking about using Confluence for help documentation. Although there is some content that would only apply to certain countries. So I would like to know can pages on a public Confluence be restricted by location?

Cheers,

Nic

Hi Nicole,

No, there is no way to restrict access to spaces or pages in Confluence by location of the user.  It doesn't matter whether you host or use a Cloud instance, this isn't something Confluence does.  However, if you host yourself you could restrict users based on their IP location, but that's done at the network level, not the application level.
