Can basic users be restricted from creating pages?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Manage users and groups

I imagine that a group can be created for basic users, and permissions can be set so that these users cannot create pages? Essentially, I want to be sure that basic users have "view only" permissions to the entire space.

Just go to Space permissions and make sure the group and/or ungrouped individuals do not have Pages -> Add selected.
