Can I set a default restrict policy in Confluence?

Hi, We're looking to allow a 3rd party contractor to have access into one of our spaces for specific file access.

I know it's possible to restrict access to everyone but our team on existing files and then add contractor access on an individual basis, but that won't address any new files made, right?

Is there a way to make it so that all new files in that space are restrict all but employees by default and allow specific people to permit access to the contractors on a individual document basis?

Thanks,
JonM
