Can I choose which Jira users could be included in confluence?

Jens Knobloch June 15, 2015

I try to include a JIRA user directory in confluence. That works properly.

However, I will not need the entire 'jira-users'-group in Confluence (just not neccessary). It's ok when just a special group can have access to confluence.

So, how can I choose (or otherwise determine ) which Jira users could be included in confluence?

Thanks and regards,

Jens K.

The best way, in my opinion, is to define basic permissions/licensing to the group jira-users or confluence-users, a group for each application. You would ensure this is:

  1. An application group in your User Directory
  2. This group is defined in the application's Global Permissions admin-area as having access to the application

In this scenario, all these users need is the appropriate application-users group to gain access/be licensed in that application.
