Can Confluence 4.3 use a network drive for attachments?

Can the latest version of Confluence use a network location or is this still not recommened?

I know JIRA does not allow it but what about Confluence?

Hi there,

We still don't recommend using a network drive for Confleunce because this will dramatically impact the performance of your instance, so I would strongly recommend against it. However, I'm sure that some customers are successfully using a SAN with fiber connection but unless you can ensure there won't be latency then I would recommend against it.

All the best,
