Auto-Populating New Document Title from Template

Stephen C June 4, 2019

I'm just starting to learn about variables in Confluence, and other than the SLIGHT annoyance of having the ENTIRE document rendered when asking for variables up front, they're useful.

But to maintain a consistent method of how we're naming certain types of documents, would it be possible to name the new document with certain variables that are defined?

For instance, if I have in my template a variable $CustomerShortName and $InstallDate how can I have the title automatically get populated with something like $CustomerShortName-$InstallDate as the title?  For example

Yes, I've been looking for this "Holy Grail" for years. I don't think it's possible atm.
