Hi,
We have confluence and JIRA installed on the same server, with users directories coming from Atlassian crowd.
Application links between the two have been created successfully.
Is it possible so the user already logged into confluence does not have to log in twice? We want users to be able to access service desk without having to log in multiple times.
Here is how it is working now:
1) User logs into confluence
2) User clicks on link in confluence to JIRA service desk customer portal URL in new window
3) User is prompted to log into JIRA
Thank you,
Chris
That's SSO - log into one SSO aware system and you don't need to log into any others.
Atlassian products (in fact, most software) simply doesn't do that off-the-shelf. But there are several products that enable it. The most obvious one here is Atlassian's Crowd - if you move to using that for handling your Jira and Confluence (and other) users, then you'll find SSO becomes almost as simple as ticking "yes, do SSO in that application"
There are other solutions out there - Crowd only has connectors to some user directory systems, and if you're not using one it talks to you might struggle to integrate. Rather than have me blather on at length about options, it might be easier to ask you what you're using for a user directory now and go from there?
Hi Nic,
We are using crowd to authenticate the same users to both confluence and jira.
Crowd has a Microsoft Active Directory conector get users from AD.
Thanks,
Chris

Thanks Nic - I really thought this what the application link was for, but it appears we missed the step about changing the authenicator in JIRA/confluence after we added the crowd directories.
I'll try it out soon.
