Anonymous Space Access, but require account to comment

Christina Hiller February 26, 2020

Is it possible to allow a Confluence Space to be setup for public access (anonymous users can access), but in order for them to leave a comment, require them to have an account?

I want to allow comments/discussion a public confluence site, but want to know who it is that is commenting.

Hi Christina,

like Jakub said it is possible but not without you paying for each user account in your instance if you really want them to have named accounts for commenting. If you want to know more about space permissions, here are three links to the documentation:

Thank you, Max and Jakub, for the response and support!

Yes, adding comments is a separate permission, so you can disallow commenting for anonymous users.
