Anchors and Hyperlinks

Tammy Hodges October 31, 2024

I am trying to anchor and hyperlink within a single page. The links create correctly. The anchors appear to create correctly. When I point the link to the anchor (#anchorname), the link stays on the link and does not move down the page. I am using Firefox and Chrome and neither browser works. I have saved the page, but not published it. I am using preview to check the links.

@Tammy Hodges Welcome to the Atlassian community

Here are a couple of helpful links that can be used to get your page anchors setup.

https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-anchor-macro/

https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-links-and-anchors/#Link-to-an-anchor--heading-or-section

If the anchor is not working something is off in either the anchor name or the link.  When you create the anchor remember you do not need the # sign and the name is case sensitive, don't use spaces.

When you add the link remember it is just #anchor-name.

Thanks.

I created the anchor and the link. I put #linkname and the link changes color to indicate that it's a link, but it doesn't move to the anchor. The changes have been saved and I am viewing via preview mode, not published mode. I am using Firefox.
