I saw an answer to this question from 5 years ago. I am seeing if anything has changed. Is there a way to have alternating colors for table rows in Confluence now?
Are you looking to change the colour of a row of cells in a Confluence table?
In Confluence - there are two potential methods depending if you're using the new or legacy editor:

The method you described works. I was looking for it to be automatic where the rows automatically alternate tables as rows are added.

Have you tried some of the solutions around modifying the look-and-feel settings of Confluence from that page?
Alternatively the Table Plus Macro is part of the Advanced Tables for Confluence app - which appears to still have table styling as part of its offering :). You could give this app a trial and see if it helps for your instance?

Holy moly this is bad. If you have alternating colors for columns, and you add a column, you have to update every row? Are you kidding me?
