We have a Jira Service Desk cloud subscription, associated with Confluence for a knowledgebase that our customers can see. Is it possible to allow customers to comment on the knowledgebase articles?

you could grant anonymous access to view pages and comment on pages in your linked Confluence space. However, this is still not shown in the actual knowledgebase. You could maybe workaround by letting them open the actual Confluence page via a link so that they can add their comment.
Another alternative would be our app, Scroll Viewport. This creates a more beautiful help center and offers an integration with Hyvor Talk for enabling discussions with your help articles.
