After importing space we have no permissions on it.

We exported space from version 5.6.6 and try to import it on the server with version 5.3.3. We didn't uncheck "Build Index".

The space was imported but we (as confulence-administrator) have no access to it. 

Users directories are different on both servers.

How can we get access to this space?

When we did the import, we also had this problem.  The solution was to access confluence with a user who is a member of the "confluence-administrators" group (not just a confluence administrator, but someone who was in a group with that exact name.  We had to create a special user just for this).  Then you could use that user to assign permissions so that everyone could see the space.
