Adding more styles to the Confluence editor toolbar

jswinarton January 20, 2013

Is there a way that I can add more text styles to the drop-down list of styles in the editor toolbar?

For example, I'd like to add a style called "First Revsion" that changes the text colour to green. In the future, the format may change, and I'd like to avoid having to go through every page and changing the colour manually later.

I would recommend you to use User Macros instead. This is easier to do rather than having to go with adding new styles in the editor (as far as I know, this is not possible).

Please refer to the following documentation/page for more info about User Macros:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Writing+User+Macros

some examples: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DISC/Shared+User+Macros

You can add user macros into a page and the text written inside this macro will be then displayed according to the template of user macro that you have written. If, by any chance, you'd like to change the color, you can then change the user macro template and this will be affected with all pages that use this user macro.
