Adding an 'I agree to Terms of Service' checkbox to public sign-up?

Ehud Halberstam August 20, 2012

I need to gate access to the confluence portal to users who have agreed to comply with the portal's Terms of Service.

To achieve this, I was thinking to include a checkbox with a link to the agreement, and only create an account to users if they first check the agreement checkbox.

Is this possible?

You can modify the login.vm file to include such terms and conditions with a checkbox if you want. Note that the "signup" part can be found in login.vm for Confluence 4.3 and above. Which confluence version are you using?

The checkbox thing only appears whenever an editor is shown, but perhaps you can modify it to your needs.

Hello Ehud,

Unfortunately, Confluence doesn't work with the specifically checkbox with link to the agreement. But, you can insert a checkbox and create a dialog box manually with the Terms of Agreement. I'm not sure if that is the best option to work on, but, I hope it helps you!

All the best,

Giuliano
