Adding Hidden Artifacts (notes) to Confluence KB Articles

Mark Stephan August 12, 2019

We are considering using confluence for our new KB.

Questions:

  1. In confluence can part of a document be seen by some users and not others? I.e. dynamic documentation based on permissions? If not supported natively, is there a plugin if not native?
  2. Can we someone have info like "notes" that are not visible by everyone (only to our internal company, when they view the KB article) Is there a plugin if not native?

Here's the scenario:

We have a client visible KB site.

When we find a defect in a KB article, we want all of our internal users to see 4 things in order to make escalation better and QUICKER:

  1. Technical Owner - The engineer who made the technical content
  2. Validator - The person who peer-reviewed it.
  3.  Writer - The one who polished the article.
  4. The Jira Ticket that made it.

Obviously, we DO NOT want the client to see this information i.e. notes.

Only Internal users should be able to see this information.
