AD synchronization taking too long.

JD March 18, 2021

Need help urgently. Atlassian support has not responded even after 2 days.

I am a new to confluence.

I have configured user integration with Active Directory and configured the 'Additional Group DN' under LDAP schema to limit search to a specific OU. Still it is going through the entire Active Directory and adding 1000s of users to the 'Unsynched from Directory user list. The synchronization has not stopped since it started a day ago and only one user shows up in the list that was used to test the AD connection.

There are only 60 users in the security group in the OU that should be included in the user list via additional group DN field. In AD we have over 150,000 user objects.

The configuration is similar to the old version currently running in production and that takes a few seconds to complete and only searches in the Group DN mentioned. What am I missing here?

New Server Version running 7.11 (old version is 6.2.0)
