Just landed: Confluence Server and Data Center 7.13 LTS (Long Term Support release)

Hello Community!

We know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting the next Confluence Server and Data Center Long Term Support (LTS) release. After resolving a number of complex issues, we’re excited to announce that Confluence 7.13 LTS is now available.

Why choose a Long Term Support release?

Upgrading to a Long Term Support release provides you with continued access to critical security, stability, data integrity and performance fixes for the full two years before this version reaches end of life. It allows you to move quickly when a high impact bug fix, or security fix becomes available for your version.

What to look forward to in Confluence 7.13

In the lead up to Confluence 7.13, we specifically targeted issues with a User Impact Score (UIS) that was high, or trending up since the last LTS release. UIS incorporates engagement on jira.atlassian.com (including vote velocity, watches, and comments), the number of active users impacted, and the severity of the bug. Several of these bugs turned out to be extremely complex, and required significant time to fix and test. All in all, we've resolved over 260 issues since 7.4.0.

Confluence 7.13 includes all of the improvements and features that we’ve shipped since Confluence 7.4, our last Long Term Support release, including:

Confluence 7.13 is the first LTS release to feature the new bundled apps in Confluence Data Center, Analytics for Confluence and Team Calendars.

Planning your upgrade

If you’re currently using Confluence 6.13, you may be aware that we extended the support window for security and critical bug fixes. Confluence 6.13 will now reach End of Life (EOL) on 31 August, 2021. We encourage you to move to 7.13 as soon as possible. Atlassian will continue to provide assistance if you encounter issues related to upgrading from your EOL version to a supported version.

We understand upgrades can take some planning, here’s a round up of resources to help you prepare:

Great, this should be our first choice to upgrade after 6.X.

Excellent news! We have been EAP testing foe a while already. Keen to start offering some of the new functions (audit logging to file, analytics, split indexing to name a few)!
