How to run clover on Apache projects

I am trying to run clover on Apache Hadoop projects. Looking at Hadoop pom files, it is using maven-clover2-plugin 3.3.0.

It requires a clover license but currently Atlassian no longer offers the license.

Do you know any workarounds for this?

Atlassian doens't provide Clover binaries which don't require license, however you can build your own fork from sources Clover core and Clover-Maven plugin

Alternatievly, you can try out some of the Clover forks, like OpenClover
