Gosh, Bamboo 2.5.3 is quite old :-D
If you would like to see Clover reports directly in Bamboo (charts on a plan summary page, coverage percentage for jobs etc), then the safest is to use the Clover in a version the same as the version on which the bamboo-clover-plugin is based on. Bamboo 2.5.3 has bamboo-clover-plugin based on Clover core 2.6.1. You can always try to use newer versions too, but I cannot guarantee that data formats (XML report mainly) are compatible.
