Most of the tools like Cobertura, JaCoCo etc are good for unit testing; but if I want to achieve similar results (reports) when I run my API tests against the RESTful applications I am testing, there isn't much available.
To be specific, most of the applications / services under test are Scala apps developed with Play framework.
Paid tools will also do.
Clover supports distributed coverage so if your application server runs in single JVM and REST tests in another you are able to set it up so Clover calculates the coverage properly.
However, Clover does not support Scala. Only Java and Groovy languages are supported. Clover instruments source code so it doesn't matter all of them use JVM technology.
Thanks for the clarification Grzegorz!
I just have a bit of confusion when you say "Clover does not support Scala" but "Since Scala apps run in JVM, it doesn't matter".
Does that mean it supports it ultimately?

Yeah, sorry my bad I wanted to be more explicit and I made a mess over there ;)
That being said, Clover doesn't support Scala, only Java and Groovy are supported.
