Unable to use 'Home' and 'End' keys to navigate text within text fields with drop-down

In the new JIRA UI, I'm unable to use my keyboard's 'Home' and 'End' keys to navigate text within text fields featuring a drop-down list, such as 'linked issues', 'backlog' and 'labels'.
