move existing folder into new hg repo?

Rolf Marsh February 3, 2014

I'm moving from Git to Hg... I have created a local Hg repo and now I want to move my existing source code folder into it. Do I have to move file by file, or can I just move the entire folder into the Hg local repo?

You should be able to do the entire folder. I would recommend copying instead of moving. We had another poster recently who moved existing code into a project, didn't like what he saw, and deleted it. When you delete unversioned files in SourceTree, they do NOT go to the Trash for easy recovery.

Thanks Seth... I'll do it that way...
