how to push files from my PC to bitbucket

I cloned a repository to my PC and trying to push my work back to bitbucket.

used the command - ' git push origin master'

It returns - 'Everything up-to-date'.

When I checked for the commits on bitbucket, nothing seems to appear / update.

what am I missing? Can someone help me please ?

Once you have made changes to files.

git status
git add <file>
git commit -m "This is my commit"
git push origin master

With git status you will see all the files with changes, you can add individually or git add * for everything.
