gnutls_handshake() warning: The server name sent was not recognized https

Frank Kubis November 11, 2014

After updating our os from debian 6 to 7, getting error while cloning with https:

fatal: unable to access 'https://...': gnutls_handshake() warning: The server name sent was not recognized

I found this: https://confluence.atlassian.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=419005548 so updated java to 1.8.0_25 and changed the Tomcat HTTPS connector did not works for me.

We using Apache as proxy, but curl is installed at version 7.26.0, should not be effected by #559371

$ curl --version
curl 7.26.0 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.26.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1e zlib/1.2.7 libidn/1.25 libssh2/1.4.2 librtmp/2.3
Protocols: dict file ftp ftps gopher http https imap imaps ldap pop3 pop3s rtmp rtsp scp sftp smtp smtps telnet tftp
Features: Debug GSS-Negotiate IDN IPv6 Largefile NTLM NTLM_WB SSL libz TLS-SRP

Any ideas what else we can do to get https work again?

Thanks!
