fork respository path error

TonnyGu August 21, 2017

We moved bitbucket to new server machine, and changed ApplicationData Path from C:/Atlassian/ApplicationData to D:/atlassian/ApplicationData. All respositories work well but forked respositories. When we click and enter the any  fork respository, web page will show message below:

'C:\Program Files\Git\cmd\git.exe cat-file -t refs/heads/master:' exited with code 128 saying: error: object directory C:/Atlassian/ApplicationData/Bitbucket/shared/data/repositories/12/objects does not exist; check .git/objects/info/alternates. fatal: Not a valid object name refs/heads/master:

Please see your system administrator.

ps. the path below(not c driver) is exist.

D:/Atlassian/ApplicationData/Bitbucket/shared/data/repositories/12/objects

Hi Tonny, that issue seems to be related to the problem explained in the following articles, have you checked them already:

Let us know if this worked for you!

Thanks Ana, The first articles works. =)

Just change refer path in alternates file in forked repositories, make it point to new BITBUCKET_HOME path.

alternates file Path:

%BITBUCKET_HOME%\shared\data\repositories\<repoID>\objects\info\alternates

<repoID> is forked repositorty id

My bitcket verion is 5.3. the alternates file path is different with that in artical (show incompleted, display issue):

BITBUCKET_HOME/shared/data/repositories/<repoID>/objects/info/al(versions 3.2+)

I'm glad you got it working, Tonny!

Thanks for telling us about the bug with the inappropriate language or spam. We have already reported it and are working on a fix :) It normally happens when we copy the formatting from a different site, the solution is to paste just plain text and apply the formatting here.

Have a nice day!
