Why is the AJP connector no longer supported for Bitbucket version 5

Paul May 22, 2017

On this page on proxying Atlassian applications with Apache it says "As of Bitbucket Server 5.0, it is not possible to configure AJP between your proxy and Tomcat server."

Why has AJP support been removed?

What alternatives are there and where are they documented?

thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

Starting with Bitbucket Server 5.0 we've made changes to how Bitbucket Server runs - as a result Bitbucket Server starts its own container, and that means that there's no option of using AJP anymore.

There are details on the changes here.

In case anyone finds this and is otherwise unaware, support for AJP connectors was restored in Bitbucket Server 6.0. See BSERV-11582 for details.
