Why can't I get 'blame' information on .md files in bitbucket-server?

There's no 'Blame' capability when looking at .md markdown files in the bitbucket-server web interface.

That seems an oversight -- or at least let me see the file in a 'raw' view that can be blamed, like is seen in the diffs of individual commits to the file.

To view blame on markdown files, you need to click the "Show Source" button in the top right hand corner of the file view:

show_source.png

Then, the blame button will be enabled and you can view blame on the markdown source.
