So our internal database is HSQLDB, which is a great lightweight database for testing, and can almost certainly support a handful of users. However, the biggest problem is that under certain circumstances it may lose or corrupt your data without warning.

For that reason I would highly recommend you install a proper database like PostgreSQL, which is free and easy to get started with.
