Viewing a user profile/commits

Brad Ruderman September 5, 2013

I just migrated an SVN to Git, by creating a user mapping, howver when I push that repo to stash I can't click on a user's name to see all their commits. Also when I push new commits for newly created repos I also can't click on a user's name. Is there a feature or something I need to configure so that I can associate a user with their commits. I want to be able to click on a user and see all their commits.

Thanks!

Hi Brad,

Unfortunately we don't (yet) link an author of a commit to a real Stash user (there may be no relation). You might be interested in the following feature request - and if so please add your vote:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-3235

Somewhat more complicated is the ability to view commits from a particular user:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/STASH-2852

While this is far from optimal, at least in the short term you can use the awesome power of Git to query this information locally:

git log --author=Someone --after="2 weeks ago" --name-status

Not sure if that's any help or not?

Any updates to this? This is a number one requested item everywhere I go and it looks like this is 6 years old.

Voting for this. This is a must have feature

This is also a major missing feature for projects migrated from Gitlab to Bitbucket. We might be able to get some reporting through Bitbucket integration in the newer versions of Jira, but it doesn't come close.

+1 for this . I am from gitlab and this is 'must have' feature.

+1 - this helps when you want to review commits by a rogue or rookie developers to the code base

Hi!

My colleagues have written an article about finding user activity using the app called Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket. Hope it will help.

Kind regards,
Uladzislava

Hello everyone,

There's a couple of ways to solve this problem and we've described it here. Please, check.

Thanks,
Anastasia

Oh, thank you. It was my mistake, I've edited it.

I used git shortlog as a workaround, but it would be great to have this functionality.

What is blocking this seemingly simple feature? Is it more complicated than one would expect?

Thanks!

Ok so we can pay for an awesome graph add-on otherwise there's apprently no way to see the activity of a bitbucket user among all the repositories?

I'm a bit surprised this has not been achieved since 2013 considering it seems to be a straight forward feature on github: you go to a user profile and you see what's his recent activity among any repositories.
