Using a single (basic_auth) token for both Jira and bitbucket, possible?

Nav December 11, 2019

Hello

I'd like to use a single token (generated for example in https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens or in https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/app-passwords-828781300.html) to make requests to Jira AND BitBucket.

From my trial and error for Jira requests I had to use my full email (as username) and the API token generated in id.atlassian.com/manage...(above) .

But using these credentials to make REST API requests to bitbucket failed with code 401.

For bitbucket requests I had to use my username and bitbucket password.

I'd like to combine the two somehow and use just 1 set of credentials in my python script to make rest api requests to both Jira and Bitbucket.

both Jira and BitBucket are cloud versions.

Is this possible in some way?

Thanks.
