Using a git repository outside stash server installation ?

Alain_bocquet February 4, 2015

Hello,
I'm new to stash, and did the stash hhtp server installation yesterday on the company network (it s something like http://gva87.xxx.com:xxxx.
We were used to use PCVS and the sources files where stores in a different location (i.e. \\gva1\src_root\).
I wouls like to know if I can keep the stash server on gva87 and then create a repository in the old gva1 location. Maybe setting the Stash home directory is the solution, but it's not clear to me if it is the correct way to do it.

All repository data is in the Stash Home directory, so if you want to keep your repos on another machine, you need to move this. However, it is not recommended to have the Stash Home on a different machine because it will make access to the files slower and thus reduce performance.

Ok.

I did n't know that performance drawback.

Thank you for your kick answer.

Olivier.
