Hey,
We have a setup where AD groups have been defined in Jira's admin view, under User management -> User directories. Bitbucket fetches user access from Jira. Our users cannot log onto Bibucket, they can log onto Jira and Confluence, which is also setup to fetch users from Jira. Users are given the following groups when they log onto Jira: jira-software-users, stash, bitbucket-users.
Our Bitbucket version is 4.3.0 and Jira is 7.3.1. This problem has repeated on other bitbucket installations. We have several Jira+Confluence+Bitbucket installations running and this problem is very crucial for us. Users can access Bitbucket if I give them user group jira-administrator, but this would be bad security to give everyone administrator access.
What user group should users be given that they can access bitbucket? Some sources mention stash, others bitbucket-user but neither seems to be working.
Thank you in advance.
It seems stash-users is the correct group in 4.13.0. Does this change to bitbucket-users in later versions?
Have a look under https://bitbucket.example.com/admin/permissions
In our lab stash-users is used (Bitbucket 5.3.2)
This instance has been upgraded from version 4.X so with a fresh install you might see bitbucket-users instead.
