Use of Oracle 11g again possible in Bitbucket 5.6

Michael Haverbier March 22, 2018

Hi,

here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver056/supported-platforms-943529467.html

the supported platforms for Bitbucket lists Oracle 11g as possible DB.

Is this an error in the documentation or is this added on purpose?

I wonder, because version 4.13-5.5 do not support Oracle 11g as DB and this page

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver056/end-of-support-announcements-for-bitbucket-server-943529468.html#EndofsupportannouncementsforBitbucketServer-databases

says Bitbucket server will no longer support Oracle 11.

Anyone knows if I can update from 4.14 to 5.6+ using Oracle 11g?

Hi Michael,

We re-added support for Oracle in that version because we found that there were still lots of customers out there using Oracle 11g with no immediate ability to upgrade to 12c.

Support for Oracle 11g is available again from version 5.6, so if you upgrade to that version you can continue to use Oracle 11g.

Cheers,
