Upgrade from Bitbucket 4.5.1 to 5.5 Git Not Found on PATH

Rob Ables Nov 03, 2017

Upgrade from Bitbucket 4.5.1 to 5.5 Git Not Found on PATH for Windows server 2008 R2.

After upgrade, and going to localhost:7990, the follow error is displayed after it says everything started succesfully: "Git was not found on the PATH for Bitbucket. Install Git 2.2.0+, excluding 2.12.2, and restart Bitbucket."

I have the newest version of Git for Windows installed and it is on the path git --version shows 2.15.0.windows.1  There is no 2.2.0+ for Windows,  I don't understand what the new BB server is looking for.  Please help.

I found my own solution.  The problem was the Bitbucket service was running as a custom user that version 5.5 setup.  GIT was not available on that user's path.  I changed the services to run as localhost, and the problem was resolved.
