Unable to launch Stash after upgrading Java

Sourjya Sankar Sen March 20, 2018

Once I upgrade Java from 1.8 to 1.9, I'm unable to start the Stash Service. It's running on a Windows based server and I'm getting the following error messages:

[2018-03-21 11:04:27] [info] [ 6264] Commons Daemon procrun (1.0.15.0 64-bit) started
[2018-03-21 11:04:27] [info] [ 6264] Running 'STASH' Service...

[2018-03-21 11:04:27] [info] [ 6264] Commons Daemon procrun finished

Both JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME have been updated to point to the correct (v1.9) installation.

Thank you.

Hi Sourjya! Java 1.9 is not supported yet, so Stash (or Bitbucket Server) will not start. This has been documented at BSERV-10211.

You can watch that ticket to be notified of future updates.

Hope that helps!

Ana
