Stash to bitbucket user/group migration

Pankaj Kumar November 9, 2015

Hi,

Currently we are running stash and wanted to migrate our all setting on bitbucket, for this we have

  1. installed Bitbucket on separate server
  2. We have configured User's directory same as stash.
  3. We have migrated all our repository from stash to bitbucket.

but the issue right now I am facing that users, group and their permission not migrated from stash to bitbucket, is this possible to migrate all users/group/permission and users ssh key from stash to Bitbucket ?

I also want to know that, we are using corporate license for stash, can we use that license in Bitbucket or need to purchase new license ?

Hi Pankaj,

Bitbucket Server is the new name for Stash, but under the covers it's still the same product. You can follow the steps in the upgrade guide to upgrade your Stash instance to a Bitbucket Server instance.

Please note the following snippet from the upgrade guide that applies when upgrading from Stash to Bitbucket Server:

Upgrading from Stash to Bitbucket Server disables all user-installed add-ons. Be sure to update your own add-ons and check the Atlassian Marketplace to ensure 3rd-party add-ons are compatible with Bitbucket Server before upgrading. Read more about this change.

Your old Stash license is still valid for Bitbucket Server.
