I installed JIRA using windows installer and as per docs it says it will install JRE. It is running fine.

Now I am installing stash on the same server and it says install JAVA. So do I need to install java separately for stash when Jira is already installed and uses JRE?

Hi Deepak,

You can use the same JRE (Java Runtime Environment) for both JIRA and Stash without any problems. You'll just need to configure your JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to the JRE installed with JIRA.
