Problems using BFG to migrate certain files of a repo to Git LFS

EmreOzbek February 5, 2019

Hi there,

We were trying to migrate certain files to LFS from our repo and have came across a problem. We're trying to follow the steps laid out in the link below.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/use-bfg-to-migrate-a-repo-to-git-lfs-834233484.html

Our problem is we can't get past the last step which is:

5. Push the converted repository back to Bitbucket

git push --force

Whenever we tried push our changes we get the error message saying:

open AdvancedInspector/Examples/Arts/Cubemap.cubemap: no such file or directory    error: failed to push some refs to 'git@bitbucket.org:tiramisuapps/drift-max-pro-gameroot-3.git'

We think we've completed the previous steps correctly.

We'd appreciate any help in this matter.

Hi Emre, welcome to the Community!

Do you have enough space to store those files you're trying to push? How big are your LFS files?

Kind regards,

Ana

Hey Ana, thank you for the reply!

I think we do have enough space. The mirrored .git file inflates quite substantially from 1.5gigs to 55gigs after the BFG procedure, which seems odd.

However our total available storage is at 86gigs. So there shouldn't be any limitations with regard to storage.
