No one can pull from my public project

David Swearingen November 18, 2017

I thought that NOT making a project private, meant it was public, and that therefore anyone can pull from it.  however I just created a project and no one can pull from it unless i add their keys.  why is this?  i just want anyone to be able to pull.

i followed the instructions online here:  https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/allowing-public-access-to-code-776639799.html  which say this:

"Go to the repository and click Settings, then Repository (under 'Permissions'). Check Enable (under 'Public Access') to allow users without a Bitbucket Server account to clone and browse the repository."

I cannot find a "Permissions" section in Repository.    Under Access Level, Private is unchecked.

this is the project:

Hi David, I've checked your repo and I can see it's public. I've also tried reproducing your issue and I've been able to clone your repo both using HTTPS and SSH.

As a side note, the article you linked talks about Bitbucket Server, while your account is on Bitbucket Cloud. Some features/options might not be the same, but everybody should be able to pull a public repo anyway.

Can you try again and see if you're still getting errors? If so, can you post a screenshot?

Best regards!

Ana
