My repository is locked after accidentally committing some files which pushed it up to 2.5GB. I've undone several commits which most likely caused this but my repository size instead increased to 4.5GB.
Because its locked, I'm unable to push fixes from tools such as BFG repo-cleaner.
Can you run a "git gc" on the server to see if this fixes the issue?
I think I identified the repository you described and triggered garbage collection. Repo size reduced significantly.
If you face similar issue in the future, feel free to open a support case here. It'd be easier for us to identify the right repo and also very likely quicker to resolve.
This question is about Bitbucket Cloud and is not applicable to Bitbucket Server. According to the relevant documentation for Bitbucket Server, it is advised to never run garbage collection manually because of the way repository forking is implemented there.
Hope this helps.
