Migrate from Stash Server to Bitbucket Server

ump274it October 2, 2015

Hi all.

My company actively use till now Stash Server (rel. 3.11.2) with MySQL DB repository.

Now, you'll see the Stash server is rebranded to Bitbucket server.

How can migrate all Stash repositories to Bitbucket server (on my own host)? New Bitbucket server installation and re-push all projects on to new server? Upgrade only the Stash server installation with new Bitbucket server?

Thank's for your help.

Alex.

Hi Alex,

If you have ever upgraded Stash before, it is generally the same. You can think of Bitbucket Server 4.0 as being Stash 4.0. Please see the upgrade guide here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/bitbucket-server-upgrade-guide-776640551.html

You certainly do not need to do a fresh installation and re-push all repositories.

Please ensure you install the latest patch level, which at this time is 4.0.2.

Ben

One additional thing I should point out. If you rely on user installed plugins, either downloaded from Atlassian Marketplace or perhaps those you developed yourself, you need to ensure an updated version is available.
