Issue configuring the Post-Receive WebHook

Chris Horton April 14, 2016

Every time I try to configure the Post-Receive WebHook, I am receiving the following error message:

Syntax or http error: /s/71095c56c641f2c4a4f189b9dfcd7a38-T/en_US/3619e0d/1/127ae82fe7ed82b6d279c6233630ef0d/_/download/contextbatch/js/com.atlassian.stash.plugin.stash-web-post-receive-hooks-plugin:postReceiveHook-config-form,-bitbucket.layout.repositorySettings,-bitbucket.page.repository.settings.hooks,-bitbucket.layout.entity,-_super,-bitbucket.layout.repository,-bitbucket.layout.base,-atl.general/batch.js?locale=en-US

I have looked through the Bitbucket error logs and can't see anything obvious.

Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening here and how I would go about resolving this issue?

Found the answer, it uses a path segment that is longer than the default limit built into Windows. Follow the instructions on this answer (you have to reboot):

Atlasssian should amend the current advice which wasn't enough for this plugin

Edit: This applies only if you're getting the error on Windows and it is proxying through IIS
